Leading Self with the Brain in Mind
Seven self-paced modules on how the brain behaves at work, held together by six one-hour study calls. The group is capped at six people, so everyone gets time on every call.
A shorter way to find out
Studying for a nationally accredited qualification is a significant commitment of time and money, and not everyone is in a position to make it. Over the past year a number of people have told us they would like to spend time with the material before deciding anything, and that they would rather do that alongside other people than work through it on their own.
So we have put together a short program drawn from the Advanced Diploma of Neuroscience of Leadership itself. Seven modules on how your own brain behaves at work, and six study calls run the way we run them in the qualification. Fourteen weeks rather than four study terms, complete in itself, and if you decide to go further, the course fee is credited against the Advanced Diploma fee.
What is involved
Seven self-paced modules
The BrainBites series, covering what drives behaviour, the S.C.A.R.E. domains, managing emotions, frazzle and stress, the age of distraction, productivity and focus, and growth mindset. Work through them at your own pace, whenever the fortnight allows.
Six live study calls
One hour, every second week, in a group of no more than six. Each call follows the module you have just finished and turns it into a conversation about your own work.
Week by week
| Weeks | Module | Live study call |
|---|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | Foundation: Who is driving your behaviour, you or your brain? | Welcome Call |
| 3 to 4 | The five drivers of behaviour that S.C.A.R.E. your brain | Study Call 1 |
| 5 to 6 | How to manage emotions in the workplace | Study Call 2 |
| 7 to 8 | How to overcome frazzle and stress | Study Call 3 |
| 9 to 10 | Surviving and thriving in the age of distraction | Study Call 4 |
| 11 to 12 | How to improve your productivity and focus | Study Call 5 |
| 13 to 14 | How to cultivate a growth mindset for peak performance | Study Call 6 |
What you earn
CPD points
One point for each BrainBite module you complete, issued under the BrainBites Series and accredited by the CPD Standards Office.
ICF CCE units
Earned in the study calls and issued under the Neuroscience of Leadership Program. Ask for your certificate at the end and we will send it.
The five units are 3.50 Core Competency and 1.50 Resource Development.
If you want the whole thing
The Advanced Diploma of Neuroscience of Leadership is a nationally accredited qualification covering this ground and a great deal more, across four study terms with assessment.
Enrol in the Advanced Diploma of Neuroscience of Leadership within three months of finishing the cohort, and the $995 course fee is credited against it.
The credit applies to the accredited Advanced Diploma pathway and covers the course fee, exclusive of GST. It is the same $995 whichever way you pay.
One hour, every second week
Each call follows the module you have just finished. Your facilitator opens with the idea and the rest of the hour belongs to the group, which is only possible because there are six of you.
This is the format the Advanced Diploma is built around.
Calls run on Thursdays, at either 7.30am or 5.30pm Queensland time.
$995 plus GST
$1,094.50 including GST. The $995 course fee is credited against the Advanced Diploma.
$1,149.50 including GST, in two payments of $574.75. Half at enrolment and half at week seven. The credit against the Advanced Diploma is the same $995.
Prices are in Australian dollars. GST applies to participants in Australia.
Before you decide
What happens if I miss a call?
Your CPD point for the module is unaffected. The CCE units are earned call by call, so you receive the units for every call you were in. If something comes up, let your facilitator know and we will work out what makes sense.
Are the calls recorded?
Yes, for our internal records only. Recordings are not circulated to participants, and the units are earned in the live call.
How much time does this take each week?
Each module takes around an hour to work through, spread across a fortnight, and the study calls are one hour every second week. Most people find it sits comfortably alongside full time work. Call times are set in Queensland time.
Do I need to be a coach?
No. The modules are about how your own brain behaves at work, which applies whatever your role. Coaches holding an ICF credential can also put the CCE units towards renewal.
What if I do not want to do the Advanced Diploma afterwards?
That is completely fine. The fourteen weeks stand on their own, and the credit is simply there if you change your mind later.
Why only six people?
So that everyone gets time on every call rather than listening to a presentation. It also means your facilitator knows what each person is working on by the second call.
When does the next cohort start?
The registration form shows the current intake, including all six study call dates, so you can check them against your diary before you commit to anything.
Six places to a group
Put your name down and tell us which call times you could make. We will confirm we have your details straight away, and come back to you as soon as there is an intake that matches your availability. Registering does not commit you to anything, and there is nothing to pay until your group and its schedule are confirmed.
If you would rather talk it through first, book a short call and bring any questions you like.
Put your name down
It is short, and nothing is payable until your group and its schedule are confirmed.
We will only use your details to talk with you about this program.
